If you know me, you know that I am big into sports! I am a big follower of Minnesota sports teams: the Twins, Vikings, Wild, Gophers, and the Timberwolves. I've pretty much brainwashed my kids by now with all the Minnesota sports gear that's out there (blankets, toys, puppets, hats, pacifiers). They really don't have a choice!
This year was exciting for MN sports fans. Target Field was a great experience for us! It was pretty cool to watch the Twins play outside for a change. We took our team at Rivertown Eye Care to see the Twins beat the Cleveland Indians early in the season. It was a chilly evening, but a fun opportunity to check out the new stadium. The Twins won the game and we had a nice bonding time. We hope to do that again next season!
I was fortunate enough to go to three Vikings games this year! It was great to see them beat the Cowboys and Cardinals (2 of their 6 wins this year!). But, the highlight for me was checking out the Bears game at TCF Bank Stadium, the Gopher's new stadium. It was awesome seeing a game outside! Although the Vikings lost big-time, it was an experience I'll never forget! I don't think anyone sat during the game. We threw snow up in the air when Percy Harvin scored his touchdown and got to see the 50 greatest Vikings during halftime. I loved seeing Cris Carter, Joey Browner, and Daunte Culpepper!
I haven't made it to a Timberwolves game this year, but they are my favorite sports team to follow. It has been a trying last few years, but I follow them when they're on tv and read up on all the stats when they're not. If you get a chance, listen to "In The Zone" on KFAN radio. I try to listen to this show every Saturday morning (8-10 am) to get insights into the NBA and the Timberwolves. The show is hosted by Dave Sinykin and Trent Tucker (Double T). I always love what they have to say about my favorite team!
