A Recipe You Should Try

Many people do a variation of this Hash Browns recipe, so it's not groundbreaking by any means. This recipe for me is all about warm and comforting memories with my grandma (Nan) and great aunt (Bet). Nan and Bet used to babysit for us and would often make this meal on a cozy Friday night.  I also remember requesting this meal for special events such as birthdays.  Since I was the youngest grandchild, I usually got my way!  We would make this dinner together, then watch The Muppets or play poker while it sat in the oven.

In a mixing bowl:
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 1/2 cups of sour cream
1 stick of melted butter
2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
mix well and add to a 2 lb bag of hash browns (shredded tastes the best!)
place in a 9 x 13 greased pan
melt 1/2 stick of butter and mix with 2 cups of crushed corn flakes...sprinkle on top of your hash browns
350 degrees for 45 minutes
Play poker or watch a fun family TV show while you wait :)
Serve with a can of warm baked beans, a soft biscuit, cole slaw, and baked ham...yum!
